Советский космос (это было завтра)
(i own this book - have yet to dip into very far - Soviet futurologists, scientists, etc circa 1968 imagine the future - not one imagines there'd be no more USSR)
I was there on Friday and was impressed by the subtle curatorial gestures, an echo of Rodchenko here, and bit of Malevich there. The two peak periods the Soviet project -- the 1920s and the 1960s -- were so unbelievably forward moving -- yet both were followed by such precipitous freefall (Stalin the '30s, and stagnation in the '70s) that it rendered the preceding futurist imagery 'out of time.'
